Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide is a mild sedative administered in gas form, most commonly used for dental treatment. Nitrous oxide is especially helpful if you find dental treatments stressful but not terrifying. Oral Sedation | Conscious Sedation

Oral sedation (also called "conscious sedation") is not like being under a general anesthetic - you are not completely unconscious. Unlike with general anesthetic, all of your body's protective reflexes are still functional, and you can breath on your own. The medications used for sedation dentistry are usually administered orally. They affect your level of awareness and memory, but have very little impact on your heartbeat or respiration. Just to be safe, of course, your vital signs are always closely monitored while you are under conscious sedation.

Dr. LaVacca and his team are dedicated to making your dental care as thorough, stress-free, and painless as possible. Call or Make an Appointment today to talk about ways to take the fear out of your dental experiences.
