Invisalign braces are fast becoming more popular than traditional metal braces as the treatment option of choice to strighten teeth. Invasalign can only be used on patients that have all of their adult teeth, so they are reccommended for adults and older adolescents. Because they are clear and therefore virtually invisible, they are cosmetically infinitely more appealing than traditional metal braces. They are also removeable, so you can take them out to eat, brush and floss, which is another advantage over metal braces.
Invisalign consists of a series of computer-designed aligners that work to gradually align your teeth into the desired positions. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks. When you first get an aligner, you will notice that it does not quite fit your teeth. That is because it is designed to align your teeth into different positions. After two weeks, your aligner will feel loose, which means that it is time to move to a new aligner.
Invisalign is not right for everyone, and only a knowledgable, trained orthodontist can tell you whether or not Invisalign is right for you.
